MOOD Project
Workshop in RomeFunded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, the MOnitoring Outbreaks for Disease surveillance in a data science context (MOOD) project aims to improve infectious disease surveillance by tracking epidemiological events through the exploration, analysis and visualisation of health, environmental and related data. This research aims to support the work of European and global public health and veterinary agencies, as well as surveillance practitioners, by providing surveillance platforms with new functionalities, as well as methodological and practical support tailored to their needs.
The MOOD project is developing innovative tools and services in close collaboration with those involved in early warning, assessment and surveillance of current and potential infectious disease threats, both within and outside Europe.
To mark the occasion, several partners in the MOOD project met in Rome for a week of fruitful discussions, where developers, modellers and researchers worked on the final stages of the MOOD platform.
The group was welcomed by the Instituto Superiore di Sanita, and more specifically by its scientific coordinator, Luca Busani.
Maguelonne Teisseire and Rémy Decoupes, both researchers at UMR TETIS, took part in the MOOD workshop in Rome.
